Nike

Copywriter

In my role as the Women’s Sportswear Product Copywriter, I work closely with product specialists, brand marketing teams, and a phenomenal editor. Together we craft copy and strategy that serves millions of athletes* globally.

Product Copywriting

When writing product copy, my goal is to help the consumer understand aspects of the product that the photos can’t show. I prioritize how the style will fit and what the fabric feels like.

Establishing the Kobe Brand

The launch of the Kobe brand came with a lot of intention and planning. I was glad to be a part of the team working on this from the early stages. The process included establishing a Tone of Voice (led by Alex Tam), working with Sports Marketing, and incorporating direction and feedback from Vanessa Bryant.

Storytelling

Some styles have rich design stories and I get to be a part of telling those.

This jacket celebrates the story of Bobbi Gibbs who snuck into the Boston Marathon in 1966. Despite the opposition she faced, she finished the race and paved the way for women to run.

It also posed a unique challenge as we didn’t have legal approval to use “Boston Marathon” or “Bobbi Gibbs.”

ACG (All Conditions Gear) styles have so much depth and story behind the design.

This jacket was inspired by a trip the design team took to the Costa Rican rainforest. This piece is an example of storytelling and technology.
